Yahoo Inc. is an internet corporation based in the United States that operates a popular search engine and web portal along with a number of other internet services. About 700 million users visit their website each month.

Howell Electric was selected to upgrade the fire alarm systems at the Sunnyvale Yahoo campus that consisted of four mid-rise 80,000sf buildings.

The project was completed in six weeks from design to final acceptance testing for all four buildings. Howell Electric ran two shifts (day shift and swing shift) in order to meet the deadline issued by Sunnyvale Fire Department. The systems were upgraded from Siemens MXL to Siemens XLS with integrated Voice Evacuation.

Casino M8trix is the premiere 24/7 entertainment destination in San Jose and Silicon Valley. They offer world-class Baccarat, Blackjack, Three-Card Poker, live action, and no limit Texas Hold ‘em. They also offer a diverse menu of American and Asian fare, draft beers, wines, and spirits in the Zone 8 Sports Bar and Grill.

Howell Electric was selected to provide pre-construction services, design engineering, fire alarm systems, voice evacuation systems, and smoke control system for Casino M8trix’s new high-rise facility.

This facility features: 40,000sf main casino floor with 28’ open ceilings, 8,200sf high limit card room, three restaurants, 5,500sf Zone 8 sports bar, 25,000sf back-of-house support areas including large server room, state-of-the-art central security control room, conference rooms, office areas, secure bank and chip cages, 122 flat screen TV's throughout, 8-story 40,00 sf high-rise tower with six high limit card suites, karaoke rooms, large meeting/conference area, and executive offices.

The fire alarm system included a full fire alarm detection system and voice notification with integrated fire-fighters smoke control. Design, engineering, installation, commissioning and final inspection was testing performed in-house. The system installed was an Edwards Vigilant VM-1.

Winslow LLC is a 74,019sf building with five floors of spectacular Class A high tech office space, shell spaces for two future restaurants, and two sub-surface parking garage levels in Downtown Redwood City.

Howell Electric was selected to provide pre-construction, fire alarm design, fire alarm installation, fire pump monitoring, fire fighters two way communication and DAS systems.

The fire alarm system consisted of a main control panel, new strobes, duct smoke detectors, fire dampers, security interface relays, mechanical shutdown interface, elevator recall, generator monitoring, and fire pump monitoring.

The fire alarm scope consisted of new fire alarm control panel, horn strobes, duct smoke detectors, mechanical shutdown interface, fire sprinkler monitoring and a pre-action sprinkler control system for the in-house data center.

The fire alarm system consisted of new speaker strobes, duct smoke detectors, security interface relays, and mechanical shutdown interface. The work included a separate life safety permit for fire alarm/security interface. A Siemens XLS fire alarm panel with voice evacuation and smoke control was used to integrate the systems.
